Southern Nevada has more average sun hours per day – 6.5 a day – than any other region in the nation. Our state alone could provide enough solar to power our entire nation, yet we let the precious energy source – and the many jobs that it could bring along with it – go untapped.That’s not all. We also have abundant wind resources along the western and eastern edges of our state. And geothermal power potential bubbles underground in Northern Nevada. Nevada could be the Saudi Arabia of a clean energy economy. New data show that a $1.2 billion investment in clean energy would create 11,000 green jobs in Nevada. The reports found that shifting from traditional fossil fuel to clean energy will improve the standard of living for millions of Americans across all skill and education levels, especially among lower-income families. |
